Founded in 2011 at the inception of the newly formed Lassonde School of Engineering, the Lassonde Engineering Society (or LES for short) is an established representative student body that has been growing rapidly , now representing over 1500+ undergraduate engineering students. The EngSoc currently runs:

OUR SERVICES

Events

  • LES hosts events all throughout the Fall and Winter semesters. There are tons of activities we do regularly ranging from the heated annual York Engineering Competitions, to our monthly Pubnights. We are excited to bring you several great events that will create lasting memories of your time at Lassonde.

Academics

  • The Lassonde Engineering Society’s Academic Committee is there to support you with all things academic! Our committee works hard to provide all Lassonde students with academic support, professional development opportunities and academic advocacy.

    • Academic Committee Reporting form: we aim to collect data, research arising academic issues, and voice student concerns.

    • AC Workshop Series and our annual Declaration Week event: We strive to give all students opportunities for professional development and networking. Stay tuned!

  • LES provides its members with an amazing opportunity to connect and learn through a variety of external conferences throughout every academic year. The Society is a member of two external organizations that provide this services, the Engineering Student Societies’ Council of Ontario (ESSCO) and the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (CFES).

Conferences

York engineering competition

  • York Engineering Competition (YEC) is an annual array of 9 competitions spanning programming, creative design and communication. It's an opportunity for York students to showcase their skills in those categories and earn the chance to represent York in the Ontario Engineering Competition (OEC).

Club relations

  • Lassonde Engineering Society offers club funding to support various initiatives and actively collaborates with club events to foster a vibrant and engaging community.
